Hounslow Safeguarding Children Board provides a wide range of face to face courses, and extensive online learning. This enables partner agencies to meet statutory training requirements and to fulfil our shared responsibility to safeguard all children.

Safeguarding learning requirements for education settings from 5.9.16 are set out in statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (link below see pages 6 and 16).
Safeguarding training for all staff.
Hounslow HSCB can assist local schools and colleges to meet statutory safeguarding training required for all staff members who should receive appropriate safeguarding and child protection training which is regularly updated.
Online learning is available to meet these requirements. Schools and colleges may make full use of this free resource. Introductory modules ensure basic awareness for all school or college staff, and a refresher module may assist your setting to meet the additional requirement for updates at least annually.

Safeguarding requirements for designated leads deputies and other relevant school personnel.
This SCB brochure contains an extensive learning programme covering most aspects of safeguarding and child protection. This can be used to meet the statutory requirement for the designated safeguarding lead and any deputies to undergo training to provide them with the knowledge and skills required to carry out the role updated every two years. School staff with other specialised roles e.g. pastoral staff, mentors, parenting advisors are also welcome to use the SCB learning programme.
